Typical dishes and wines

Among the typical dishes of the cuisine of Ozieri the famous Maccarrones de ungia or de Ferrittu (special kind of home-made pasta) served with hare or wild boar meat sauce, should not be missed as well as the Fave e Lardo, the Fave with Joddu, su Tattalliu and the pork and lamb roasted meat. Recently Ozieri began producing saffron distinguished by its special taste.  

Local wines are produced from typical vines grown on the hill and tasted in the cellars and at the local traditional Corporations (Gremi) located in the narrow and picturesque streets of Ozieri.
Ancient autochtonous vines, such as and in particular Alvarega, Redagliadu and Muristellu are now being re-valuated.
